jooseng teochew porriage: porriage/rice -$free

its the 9am in the morning... i was gonna wake up at 10am to do a drawing necessary as poster...

however once again im rudely awakened but some idoitic situation.

im very fustrated but things such as this...

today my brother was gonna be a few minutes late for sch and he refused to go. and u noe why? cos the school threatened that reciving four late records would grant a studet caning. im really bothered that my brother is afraid of sch...

wasnt the concept of secondary/primary school to have a child learn and develop necessary skills and find his/her passion in carreer? i dun think developing fear and a detest for studying is something a sch shld be offering...

maybe in defence the sch might say, being puntual is an attribute that every student shld aquire and have... and they might go on to say how necesary it is in the working world. but i say its crap... sure its important to be punctual... but more importantly, is for the sch to instill a desire to learn which im sure that superceeds wat ever mambo jumbo "mottos" the sch might want to hold on to... we go to sch to learn to learn and not learn to be the topdog...

i hate the society's systems... its rubbish.

and on the point of being punctual, im sure the members of the disciplinary committee who have so wilfully decided on such a "law" to be passed are most of the times late themselves... common, a singaporean never late? unheard of. i think its absolutely foolhardy... if any of u teachers of my brother dare pat urself on ur backs, let it be a pat to ur deaths.

jus dun think its right this way... ARGGGG! hell... jus not the right wat to live...

enuf said.

2 art lectures and ive gone thro impressionsm and modernism(expressionism, fauvism, cubism). indeed as the times turn cosmopolitan and metropolitan, the amount of pressure one recieves throughout a life time grows steadily. pent up fustration's and carefully conceled anger instilled with in many who dwell in the city...

i prefer the darker paintings... the ones that speak of a love of life yet wif morbid expectations...

wif impressionsm i think van gogh is fantastic... whilst his use of colour is often complementary and bright, he manages to evoke a sense of emptyness and loss of hope... turning brightness into a glare and the ability to put so much of his present feelings/thoughts in to his paintings is absolutely remarkable. i mean how does one concieve to do such?!

edvard munch during the times of expressionism fits the term "expression" accurately. his works are mostly characteristically dark and morbid, said to be a reflection of his less than fortunate childhood. "the scream", prolly his most popular piece, is one that effectively evokes a response in its audience. i think the ability to paint such takes much more than the ability to paint photolike pictures...

i used to think that photo quality paintings were the most dfficult to achive and absolutely fantstic (prolly cos my father expeced me to learn such when my mother enrolled me into drawing class). now i think they are difficult to do and not worth the effort... after all if one paints, its shld speak more than wat a mechanised box wif a pinhole can do.

last, but certainly not least is cubism... in the lecture we were only introduced to pablo picasso and his works that fit into cubism. i think cubism is awesome and very fun to do... i feel its alot like deconstrution or atleast the process is rather similliar. drawing more than one facard of a subject in one's painting is intersting and since the paintings ride on a concept rather than a style, i like it so much more.

yup i love art class... wish my brother loves his class too.
