chicken drumstick, rice and sauced vegatable -$3.50

its been three yrs since the uncle, who sells chicken rice, set up his stall a few blocks from my house.

for the last three yrs ive been patroniseing his stall regulary... after all when ive nothing better on the menu i usually settle for chicken rice...

today on one of my regular runs down for lunch, this chicken uncle told me that he will hav to close down his store due to bad busines as a cause of recent happenings. i guess all that hype abt bird flu and health matters took its toll on chicken businesses in singapore.

sidenote: my lecturer who jus gone to shanghai said that the pple of china still continue their regular consumption of chicken. kfc isnt slacking in business and restuarnts dont leave out chicken in their menu... so seriously the bird flu is dangerous but also given in to too much hype.

well it will be weird to hav no chicken rice stall to go to in the afternoons... and being a regular customer has ts perks too... better portions, more rice and discounts on every purchase. kinda hard to accept something that ive taken for granted to stick arnd for the next five yrs wld so suddenly be removed.

i will miss the chicken rice stall... the smiling uncle... his weird wife who always glares at pple... the fact that if im too lazy to cook or go out of lunch i cld jus settle for chicken rice... and most of all, that they were there for the duration of my poly yrs (which i love the most).

its isnt an important part of my life... its is however, a very big part of my everyday routine.

funny... all things good and bad has its time frame of exisitence. the end of this stall reminds me that i too wld be stepping into a new phase of my life. i can only think for to day cos the future is a constant nagger and the past is too heavy a burden to bear.

i only hav jesus to trust.

pear flambee, serves 2 at The Tarven -$24.00

the is safety in the council of friends... how true...

in the recent happenings ive been very stressed... and pressured... kinda put me in touchy mode.

design and its issues hav always been close to heart. and not jus close to heart, also very misunderstood.

i was gonna blow my top... and go all out ona kamakazi rush to chide all liveing beings that made my life as a designer hell...

pukingcoldblood.

but after talking to a few pple... and lastly my care grp leader... i realised that being angry at my pple who dont noe anyhthing abt design really isnt gonna help my future.

im convinced that ignorance prevails among the larger part of non-designers.

to most, designers speak greek (or at least it has become a popular belief). besides, it wld also prolly result in more misunderstanding amongst designer and non-desginer. nobody wld truly understand a designer's pain. but in hope, they can see a difference in good work and crap. so i guess its really up to my God to change their minds; and im gonna stick arnd to see it happen, playing the low key.

all in all im glad that i finally hav a release in pressure. now i noe wat to do... its a risk but i feel a peace that comes wif the decision. ya... aii. between vengence and hope i choose the latter.

for better tmrs.
